360° Painting of Naperville helps local school district keep kids healthy and in class

Local business 360° Painting of Naperville is once again stepping up to support education in their local school district.

In order to keep students focused and in class, Brian and Roxanne Conrad, owners of 360°Painting of Naperville, are gathering shelf-stable healthy snacks to donate to their local school district.

Throughout September and October, Brian and Roxanne have been collecting shelf-stable healthy snacks like goldfish, granola and trail mix to donate to the local Indian Prairie Unit District 204. They will culminate their efforts on Saturday, Nov. 16, by hosting a donation table outside the Walmart in Glen Ellyn.

The Conrads invite the community to come and support local education by donating healthy shelf-stable snacks.

The idea for the snack drive came about after they reached out to the Indian Prairie School District.

"We let them know we'd like to find a way to help this holiday season," said Roxanne. "The coordinator specifically asked for snacks because they find that kids don't get enough to eat during the day and end up in the nurses' office feeling sick. By donating snacks, we're helping kids stay focused and in class, not in the nurses' office!"

Their targeted donation campaign is designed to specifically meet the needs expressed by the district. By trying to fill specific needs, the Conrads and their company, 360° Painting, are helping to close the achievement gap by giving students from lower socioeconomic families a boost in school.

In association with the 360° Painting nonprofit, Kids-Lift, Brian and Roxanne will be tabling outside the Walmart in Glen Ellyn, asking shoppers to pick up extra snacks during their trips and to donate it after they finish. "We hope that by removing the barriers to donating - time and convenience - more people will be able to give," said Brian. "Because people are donating the snacks themselves, they can be assured that 100% of their donation goes directly to the kids most in need."

This is not the first time that 360° Painting has collaborated with Kids-Lift to give back - in August, they donated backpacks and school supplies to the school district to help kids begin the school year.

If you'd like to donate shelf-stable snacks to 360° Painting of Naperville, come out on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Walmart at 3S100 Route 53 in Glen Ellyn.
