Naperville Park District and KidsMatter to co-host job fair Jan. 4

Individuals seeking summer, seasonal or year-round, part-time employment are invited to learn more about job opportunities at area businesses and at the Naperville Park District by attending the 2020 Community Job Fair co-hosted by the Naperville Park District and KidsMatter.

The Job Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, in the first-floor gymnasium at Fort Hill Activity Center, 20 Fort Hill Drive in Naperville.

This is a free event and is intended for a variety of job seekers, from high school students (ages 15 and up) to senior adults.

"We hope that college students who are home on winter break will take advantage of this opportunity to begin seeking summer employment and internships," explained Kamala Martinez, CEO and Executive Director of KidsMatter. "We plan to offer mock interviews, resume building and other workforce preparation for both high school and college students."

The 2020 Job Fair also will include opportunities for retirees and other adults seeking part-time work. For example, park maintenance and golf course maintenance positions at the Naperville Park District can be ideal for retirees who are looking for a flexible schedule. Additionally, positions at Fort Hill Activity Center and in recreation programs often have flexible daytime schedules. As in 2019, lifeguard positions in 2020 will be structured in shorter shifts with the option of shallow water only positions or full facility positions.

"We look forward to hosting the Job Fair with KidsMatter to assist jobseekers, fill current job opportunities and to get an early start in filling our seasonal positions," said Katie Sepe, Director of Human Resources for the Naperville Park District.
