The Land Conservancy hosts Art of the Land art show and fundraiser Nov. 8-9

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County is hosting the 11th annual "Art of the Land" art show and fundraiser from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8-9, at the Starline Factory, 306 W. Front St. in Harvard.

"Art of the Land" is a showcase of artwork that features the beauty of the McHenry County landscape.

The show includes artwork for sale from local artists, artisan items for purchase, art demonstrations, poetry by the Woodstock-based poetry collective Atrocious Poets, raffles, live music, appetizers and cash bar.

In addition to the fine art show, the event features a display of photos taken by amateur photographers at many of the properties The Land Conservancy of McHenry County has preserved. Guests will have the opportunity to vote on a "People's Choice" photograph each night.

"Art of the Land" is its biggest fundraiser of the year, and 30 percent of all sales from the event support land preservation in McHenry County.

Advance tickets are $20 per night or $30 for a two-night pass and can be purchased at www.ArtoftheLand.org or by calling the office at (815) 337-9502.

At the door, tickets will be $25 per night. Tickets for The Land Conservancy of McHenry County members are $15 per night or $25 for a two-night pass.
