Kaneland puts on 'Twelve Angry Jurors' this weekend

The Kaneland High School Theatre department presents their 2019 fall play "Twelve Angry Jurors."

Based on the 1957 film, the play centers around the deliberation of 12 jurors in a capital murder case. While the verdict appears open and shut, all 12 individuals must agree and that is proving hard to do.

Junior Rob Luedtke, playing Juror No. 8 says, "The message that this show has to offer is moving. We get to tell this story that was written fifty years ago and is still so relevant to today."

First-time performer, Sophomore Sarah Janito, playing Juror No. 7 says, "It's exciting because I get to be involved in something like this, and I love spending time with the cast."

Performances take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. Tickets are $10, $5 for seniors and children, and Kaneland High students with their school ID get in for free. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at the Kaneland Store app.arts-people.com/.

Kaneland High School is located at 47W326 Keslinger Road in Maple Park. This show is recommended for elementary school aged children and up.

"Twelve Angry Jurors" is written by Reginald Rose and stage version is by Sherman L. Sergel. It is presented through The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock.
