Ela Township to host Veterans Day luncheon

From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, Ela Township's 55+ program will be honoring area veterans with its annual luncheon at the Ela Township Community Center, 380 Surryse Road in Lake Zurich.

Each year, dozens of veterans spanning decades of service and covering every branch of the military attend this special event in Ela Township. Veterans are encouraged to bring memorabilia along with stories of their time-in-service to be shared.

This event will also feature an especially memorable moment for veterans via a pinning ceremony honoring all military branches.

Ela Township's annual Veterans Day luncheon is free for all veterans who sign up (regardless of age).

To register, call (847) 438-9160 by Nov. 4. Enjoy homemade turkey, mashed potatoes, and all the trimmings, including cake and refreshments prepared by Ela Township's Chef Lynn Garrett.

For all nonveteran guests, the fee is $10 for Ela 55+ members and $15 for nonmembers.
