Run to Support the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels in the 2020 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle or Bank of America Chicago Marathon

Runners interested in hitting the pavement for the 2020 Bank of America Chicago Marathon can guarantee entry by joining the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels (OLA) charity team as registration is now open for charity team entrants. Interested participants are encouraged to register immediately as Mission OLA has a limited number of guaranteed entries for their team. The initial registration period for the Chicago Marathon ends on Dec. 3, 2019.

Mission OLA has had teams participating in the Chicago Marathon since 2011. To date, Team Mission OLA has raised more than $860,000 in the process.

Mission OLA's marathon fundraiser is part of an effort to raise money to complete the renovation of its three-story school building that provides food pantries, distribution of clothing/household goods, emergency assistance and hot meal programs for residents of West Humboldt Park. When the renovation is complete, Mission OLA will be able to expand their social service outreach services that are of great need to the local community.

The benefits of joining Team Mission OLA include a training plan developed by Sister Stephanie Baliga, an elite marathon runner and former NCAA D1 cross-country and track athlete, a t-shirt, a pre-race Mass and dinner and a personal prayer warrior.

The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8k takes place on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Runners interested in this race must register by Sunday, March 1, 2020. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon takes place on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020.
