More than 100 Aurora University student-athletes are expected to volunteer at eight Aurora nonprofits in a first fall "Morning of Service" from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 26.

The university's Wackerlin Center for Faith and Action is the sponsor.

Students are scheduled to volunteer at Salvation Army Aurora Corps, 2134 W. Galena Blvd.; Fox Valley Habitat or Humanity, 823 Gillette Ave.; Hesed House homeless shelter, 659 S. River St.; Mutual Ground domestic violence shelter, 418 Oak St.; Marie Wilkinson food pantry, 834 Highland Ave.; SciTech hands on museum, 18 W. Benton St.; Aurora Fire Museum, 53 N. The effort opens at 8 a.m. Oct. 26, when students will gather at the Wackerlin Center, 430 S. Evanslawn Ave. in Aurora, for bagels, a group photo and instructions. At 12:15 p.m., a lunch for volunteers in the university banquet hall at Alumni Hall will feature student reflections on service projects.

On Sept. 28, about 200 AU students held a 10th annual fall Morning of Service, volunteering at 12 Aurora nonprofits and one in Batavia.
