Local Gym Three60fit Steps up and Squats Low For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In Chicago alone, 1,000 women die each year from breast cancer. On Oct. 19, to raise both awareness and funds for the disease, Arlington Heights-based gym Three60Fit is hosting its inaugural Squat for a Cure fitness fundraising event.

"Studies show that people who live active lifestyles and exercise regularly have a lower risk of breast cancer," says Three60Fit gym owner Christian Koshaba. "For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're stepping up and squatting low to not only raise money for a great cause, but to promote a healthy lifestyle and do our part in ending breast cancer for good."

The event, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at 569 W. Golf Road in Arlington Heights, will be broken down into four waves of squats, each led by a different trainer at the gym. The end goal? 36,000 squats completed and $3,600 raised, benefiting Susan G. Komen Chicago.

Christian Koshaba will be running the 9 a.m. squat wave.

Jessi Bergman will be running the 9:30 a.m. squat wave.

Eddie Kurpieski will be running the 10 a.m. squat wave.

Greg Poland will be running the 10:30 a.m. squat wave.

Participants can sign up for one squat wave, but are welcome to stay for as many as they'd like.

The event is open to all, with registration prices ranging from $13-25. If interested in participating or donating, more information can be found at https://ticketstripe.com/three60fitsquatchallengefundraiser?fbclid=IwAR0ub0cJbDJz1L35byo7PNMKmq1vQ0y0Eso8BlmRbXNAAYXgPFk_W_PUHsM.
