AARP Tax-Aide needs volunteers

AARP Tax-Aide is looking for volunteers to help seniors in the suburbs with federal and state tax preparation.

Volunteers are especially needed in the Fox Valley area.

No previous tax experience is necessary, but good computer skills are required.

Those who volunteer receive IRS training materials and attend training classes in January at Harper College in Prospect Heights.

Volunteers must satisfactorily complete a test to become IRS-certified tax preparers.

Volunteers must be able to commit 3 to 4 hours once a week during the tax season, February to April.

If interested, complete the online application at aarp.org/taxvolunteer.
