Lovell Federal Health Care Center to offer walk-in flu shot clinics Oct. 19

On Saturday, Oct. 19, the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center is offering free flu vaccinations at the North Chicago campus and McHenry Community Based Outpatient Clinic.

Eligible veterans with proof of service (e.g. discharge form DD214) may enroll with the VA at both locations.

• The walk-in flu shot clinic in North Chicago will be held from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 19, at Building 133CA (Primary Care) and Building 133EF (Immunization Clinic), at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, 3001 Green Bay Road, North Chicago. Parking is available in the parking garage. Volunteers will be posted at the main valet parking entrance to direct patients. The clinic is available to active duty military families, military retirees and veterans who are enrolled for care with the Department of Veterans Affairs. (Active duty personnel are encouraged to get their vaccinations with their command for proper tracking and command compliance.)

• The Walk-in flu shot clinic in McHenry will be held from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 19, at the McHenry Community Based Outpatient Clinic, 3715 Municipal Drive, McHenry. The McHenry clinic is available to enrolled veterans.

The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center is the nation's first fully integrated medical facility between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. It serves active duty military personnel, their families and veterans. Lovell FHCC, which is located in North Chicago, operates four Great Lakes Naval Station clinics and three community based outpatient clinics in McHenry and Evanston, and Kenosha, Wisconsin.
