For one day only, members of the public can purchase discounted tickets to The Land Conservancy of McHenry County's "Art of the Land" art show and fundraiser, which takes place Nov. 8-9 from 6:30-10 p.m. at the Starline Factory, 306 W. Front St. in Harvard.

On Thursday, Oct. 10, $10 tickets will be available. Tickets can be purchased at www.ArtoftheLand.org or by calling the TLC office at (815) 337-9502. After Oct. 10, the ticket price will be $20 per night or $30 for a two-day pass.

The show includes artwork from 33 local artists, artisan items for purchase, nature photography and People's Choice photo contest voting, poetry by the Atrocious Poets, an art demonstration, raffles, live music, appetizers and cash bar.

All art included in the show reflects or is inspired by the local landscape. Art of the Land is TLC's biggest fundraiser of the year, and all proceeds from the event support land preservation in McHenry County.

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County would like to thank its Mighty Oak and Hickory sponsors: Mackie Consultants and Christopher Burke, Curran Group, Davey Tree Company and The Care of Trees.

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County is a member-based private nonprofit dedicated to preserving natural, scenic and agricultural land.
