Young Adult Literature Conference returns to Naperville

Several hundred children's and young adult book lovers and educators will meet Saturday, Oct. 19, for a day of literature and learning.

Anderson's Bookshops' 16th annual Young Adult Literature Conference, a gathering of authors, professional educators and others interested in the best and newest in young adult literature, will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (doors open at 7:30 a.m.) at the Embassy Suites, 1823 Abriter Court, Naperville. Continental breakfast and a plated luncheon are included.

Tickets are available exclusively at eventcombo.com.

Headlining authors for the program are Elizabeth Eulberg, Scott Westerfeld, Laura Ruby, Lizzy Mason and Alex London.

Also appearing are authors Ronni Davis, K Ancrum, Sharon Biggs Waller, Sonia Hartl, Natalie Lund, Rachel DeWoskin, Jennifer E. Smith, Claire Legrand, Kimberly Jones, Gilly Segal, Rosiee Thor, Gloria Chao, Charlotte Nicole Davis (Fan Frenzy Only), E.E. Charlton-Trujillo, Rafi Mittlefehldt, Annie Sullivan, Kimberly Gabriel, Lauren Mansy, Lillie Vale, Melissa Grey, Amber Smith, Jenn Bennett, Kit Frick, Adrienne Young, Shelby Mahurin, Jessika Fleck and Rosaria Munda.

Participants will join breakout sessions on a variety of motivating topics and learn about the latest and greatest in YA titles. This year's event brings dozens of authors who are among the favorites of today's young readers.

Opportunities to purchase books and get them autographed are included in the daylong event.

The program has been a sellout in the past; space is limited.

Additionally, Anderson's Bookshops will host a second special event for teens that weekend.

The popular Fandom Frenzy, now in its seventh year, will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, with many of the same authors. Tickets are $5 for the event at Fischer Middle School, 1305 Long Grove Drive, Aurora. Registration is required and available at andersonsbookshop.com.

Anderson's is an approved provider for the Continuing Professional Development for the Illinois State Board of Education, and CPDU credits are available to attendees.
