Hampshire club to join in Oktoberfest Fun Day Oct. 17

On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the Hampshire-Henpeck Unit of Home and Community Education will attend the Oktoberfest Fun Day at Kane County Extension office, 535 Randall Road in St. Charles. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. with a fine arts and craft competition followed by a Bavarian luncheon, catered by Harner's Bakery and Restaurant of North Aurora. This year's program, "Octoberfest," will be presented by Jerry May.

The 2020 unit membership dues of $17 must be paid at the Tuesday, Nov. 19 meeting. The "Know and Grow" and certified volunteer hour forms are also due.

Look for the club's poster at the Heartland Bank in Hampshire celebrating Home and Community Education Week, Oct. 13-19.

Last month, the unit's field trip for lunch at Egg Haven and a visit to Kuiper's Apple Orchard was a great way to end the summer and welcome the fall season. Unit members wish to extend a special thank you to Jan for her help with final details.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, the "Lesson for Living" on "Saving Money On Food Costs" will be presented from 10 to 11 a.m. at the county extension office, 535 S. Randall Road, St. Charles. All are invited to attend.
