Walking to Fight Alzheimer's

The season-long fundraising efforts by the staff of Monarch Landing and The Springs, benefiting the Alzheimer's Foundation, culminated last week. Approximately 15 employees of the senior living community and its healthcare and rehabilitation center participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's-Naperville.

"Over the course of several months, we raised more than $2,400 in a variety of events, including a bake sale, taco truck, ice cream truck, and t-shirt sales. We also 'sold' paper butterflies honoring individuals with Alzheimer's . We posted the butterflies on our walls throughout The Springs," said Calli Cantrell, memory support assisted living manager at The Springs. Calli coordinated the fundraising efforts for Monarch Landing and The Springs. "We see the impact of dementia professionally and work hard daily to enrich the lives of individuals with the disease. Many of us have experience with it among our friends and families as well. We are all dedicated to doing anything we can to end this disease and we were proud to participate in the Walk."
