Aurora's Temple B'nai Israel to commemorate High Holy Days

Temple B'nai Israel, 400 N. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora, invites you to attend the High Holy Days services and commemorate the holidays with the welcoming congregation.

The High Holy Days worship will begin with Erev Rosh Hashanah at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29. A dessert reception will follow the service. A candle lighting will be held at 6:20 p.m.

On Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1, Rosh Hashanah begins with a Shacharit service at 9 a.m., Torah reading around 10:15 a.m., Shofar blowing at 11:15 a.m. with the sermon at 11:45 a.m. and Musaf around noon. The candle lighting will be held after 7:18 p.m. Sept. 30.

After the conclusion of Sept. 30 services, Rabbi Edward Friedman will lead Tashlich ceremony at Jericho Lake, off Jericho Road, west of Orchard Road.

On Tuesday, Oct. 8, join Kol Nidre - Erev Yom Kippur at 5:30 p.m., with candle lighting at 6:05 p.m.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, Yom Kippur begins with a Shacharit service at 9 a.m., Torah reading around 10:15 a.m. and the sermon at 11:30 a.m. The Yizkor Service will begin around noon, followed by Musaf around 1 p.m., Mincha at 4:15 p.m. and Neilah about 5:45 p.m.

The Shofar Blowing/ Havdalah will be at 7:03 p.m.
