Support domestic violence victims at Mutual Ground's Walk for Hope

On Sunday, Sept. 29, Mutual Ground invites you to support victims of domestic violence and raise awareness during the 12th annual Walk for Hope at Blackberry Farm, 100 S. Barnes Road in Aurora.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The walk kicks off after a brief ceremony at 9 a.m. Breakfast, speakers, face painting, merry-go-round rides and more will be available to walkers and their families.

The event is free, but pledges can be raised by participating walkers.

Walk for Hope is one of Mutual Ground's largest fundraising events of the year with more than 400 walkers and 30 sponsors.

Every dollar raised helps Mutual Ground provide education, awareness, and life-changing services that empower individuals, families, and communities to end the cycle of domestic and sexual violence.

"We are always thrilled to have so many people walk together in solidarity for victims of domestic violence," said Michelle Meyer, executive director of Mutual Ground. "By coming out to walk, you are raising awareness of the issues surrounding domestic violence and helping support the important work we do."

Mutual Ground relies on the generosity of the community and individuals to continue improving the lives of those who seek domestic violence and sexual assault services at their agency.

There is still time to create or join a team, or donate to a current walker by visiting www.mutualground.org.

Businesses interested in sponsoring this event may contact Kathy Melone at (630) 499-5975 or kmelone@mutualground.org.
