Celebrate World Heart Day Sept. 26 at West Chicago's Gary School

Join Healthy West Chicago for the third annual World Heart Day Celebration. World Heart day offers people across the globe the opportunity to take part in the world's biggest intervention against cardiovascular disease.

Healthy West Chicago will be hosting the World Heart Day Celebration with awards, entertainment, giveaways, raffle prizes, and a heart-healthy dinner.

Gary School will host the World Heart Day event from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26.

The organization will recognize individuals in the community who dedicated themselves to being physically active the month of September as a part of its Move with the Mayor Campaign. Award winners will be identified through the Move with the Mayor Step Challenge app. It's not too late to participate, join the challenge today by visiting www.healthywestchicago.org/walking-challenge.

Event day raffle prizes include bikes with helmets and locks for students 18 and younger and activity trackers for adults 18 and older.

Enter the raffle by picking up one of the Healthy West Chicago Activity Passports and attending at least two Move with the Mayor walks in September.

More information about the walks may be found at www.healthywestchicago.org/new-events.
