West Chicago competing for People's Choice Award in America in Bloom video contest

As members of the City of West Chicago's committee gear up to attend the America in Bloom National Symposium, held in early October in St. Charles, Illinois, their efforts are focused on gathering support for a short community video that could bring national attention to the town.

It is produced by Ashley Black, the granddaughter of America in Bloom committee member and West Chicago Garden Club president Barbara Bizzarri.

The YouTube video contest winner will be chosen through a People's Choice Vote.

The goal of this component of the AiB Awards Program is to visually showcase what the program is accomplishing in the individual community, and convey the community's overall aesthetic.

West Chicago is the only Illinois community in the running in its population category.

West Chicago's America in Bloom Committee is hoping to create a wave of support for its video by urging everyone to take part in the voting process. They see it not only as a chance to show community pride but also as an opportunity to win much deserved national attention as an outstanding community through this program.

Voting will end on Saturday evening, Oct. 5, during the America in Bloom Symposium and awards program.
