Town hall and 'one-stop stop' for veterans and military health care resources set for Sept. 21

The Capt. James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center invites all veterans including retirees, service members, family members, community partners and the public to learn about VA and TRICARE health care benefits and services by attending a Town Hall and Retirees Day event from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the National Museum of the American Sailor.

The event will feature updates and an interactive discussion with top leaders of Lovell Federal Health Care Center and the Veterans Benefits Administration's Chicago office.

It also will feature TRICARE and VA healthcare resources, on-site VBA claims assistance, on-site VA enrollment and free flu shots. An additional array of FHCC and Naval Station Great Lakes entities will have resource tables, including Fleet and Family Services and Transition Care Management, which helps service members transitioning from the military.

A free continental breakfast will be offered.

"This event will be a one-stop shop of resources to help veterans, service members and their families to access the health care benefits and services they've earned," said Dr. Robert Buckley, director of Lovell FHCC.

The town hall affirms the commitment of Lovell FHCC to provide transparent communication with the community.

The Town Hall and Retirees' Day Resource Fair will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the National Museum of the American Sailor, 2531 Sheridan Road, Great Lakes, located outside of Naval Station Great Lakes' main gate, next to the Visitors Center.
