American Hotel Registry Marks September 11 by Hosting Vitalant Blood Drive

More than 30 employees working at Vernon Hills-based American Hotel Registry marked September 11 by participating in the company's annual blood drive. Twice a year, American Hotel Registry partners with Vitalant (formerly LifeSource) to host this life-saving event at its Milwaukee Avenue headquarters. Among donors that day was Dennis Torneck of Mundelein, who was making his 80th blood donation as an employee of the company.

"It's the blood already on the shelf that helps in an emergency and that's why it's crucial for Vitalant to maintain a safe and ready supply at all times," said Vitalant Regional Director Eva Quinley, who noted that it takes about 24 to 36 hours to process, test and distribute each blood donation before it is delivered to hospitals."

In the Chicagoland area, Vitalant has 17 donation centers and hosts an average of six blood drives every day. Vitalant urges both existing and first-time donors of all blood types to visit vitalant.org or call 877-25-VITAL to schedule an appointment at one of our community donation centers or at a mobile blood drive.
