Lions & Rotary to co-host Schaumburg/Hoffman community-based fundraiser Sept 21

Looking for a fun-filled evening that will test your knowledge of trivia and benefit those in our community who are struggling to make ends meet?

Schaumburg AM Rotary and the Schaumburg-Hoffman Lions Club - two nonprofit community service organizations - will co-host the fifth "Trivia for a Cause" fundraiser on Saturday evening, Sept. 21, at Poplar Creek Bowl located at 2354 W. Higgins Road, in Hoffman Estates. Doors open at 5 p.m. Questions begin at 6 p.m.

This fundraiser benefits two community concerns:

• The Schaumburg Township Food Pantry, that serves 600+ individuals and families monthly

• Operation Warm sources new winter coats that will be donated to children attending the Marletta Darnall Schaumburg Child + Family Center. This is a Children's Home + Aid facility that provides Head Start programs promoting school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children from low-income families.

The evening features fun, prizes, and competition in addition to a special door prize raffle that benefits the food pantry. Attendees will receive one door prize raffle ticket for each nonperishable food item donated that evening.

Bring your own snacks or order food from the Poplar Creek Bowl menu, but no outside meals or pizza please. A cash bar will be available.

Tickets purchased in advance are $20 per person/$160 for a team/table of eight. Tickets at the door are $25 per person/$200 per team.
