Gail Borden to host Rako-O Family Fall Fest, robot building and more

'Secret Presidency':

William Hazelgrove will discuss his book "Madam President: The Secret Presidency of Edith Wilson" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the main library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin. The book is an engaging portrait of the woman who became acting President of the United States in 1919, months before women officially won the right to vote. Job fair:

Jobseekers will have an opportunity to discuss positions with local employers such as John B. Rako-O Family Fall Festival:

Celebrate fall at the "Rako-O Family Fall Festival" on Saturday, Sept. 21. The Rakow Branch, 2751 W. Bowes Road in Elgin, will present an afternoon of autumn fun at the annual festival from 1 to 4 p.m. Visitors will enjoy pumpkin decorating, crafts, farm animals, a caricaturist, craft fair, artisan demos and more.

Robot building:

Sharpen your robot building and coding skills at Gail Borden Library this fall. The main library will host a "Robot Building Showcase" for all ages from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. Discover how to assemble and code robots using Robotis kits. No registration is necessary to attend.
