Coaches and team members work hard at McDonald's during McCoaches Night.

Larkin High School cross country team coaches volunteered behind the counter on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Elgin McDonald's, 1480 Larkin Ave., where they served students and their families in a fundraiser for Larkin High School cross country team.

The cross country team did an outstanding job selling pies to customers throughout the night which were donated by David Bear and the Bear family Restaurants. The proceeds went directly to benefit the cross-country team.

Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McCoaches Night sales were also donated directly to the Larkin Cross Country team.

David Bear, owner/operator of the Elgin McDonald's on Larkin, and the Bear Family Restaurants were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for high school sports.

"Events like this are a huge part of McDonald's larger commitment to the important initiatives supporting families and the local community," Bear said.

Thank you to Coach Jose Uriostegui and Coach Nathan Williams for coordinating this event and working hard the entire night.
