St. James School celebrates Grandparents Day

On Friday, Sept. 6, Saint James' grandparents were welcomed by the eighth-grade National Junior Honor Society students and ushered to their seats, where their grandchildren would soon come to join them for the school's 11th annual Grandparents Day Mass and Open House.

The Rev. Matt Foley celebrated the Mass. The Middle School Ensemble sang as a gift to all grandparents.

After Mass, Dick and Mary Ann Johnston and their six grandchildren - all current students at St. James School - took to the stage. Ann Johnston reflected on why Catholic education is important to her and her family.

Dick and Mary Ann Johnston have been parishioners of St. James Church for more than 30 years.

While recognizing the excellent educational options in Arlington Heights, St. James offers something inherently extra. It is a school that makes connections of faith in all subjects.
