Lake Park parents can take survey to find new superintendent

The Lake Park High School District 108 board of education is faced with the important task of hiring a new superintendent for the 2020-21 school year following the retirement of current Lake Park Superintendent Dr. Lynn Panega on June 30, 2020.

To assist with this endeavor, a search firm specializing in assisting boards of education in their search for a new superintendent has been hired.

School Exec Connect has recommended conducting an audit of District 108's strengths, challenges and goals, as well as determining the attributes necessary for a new superintendent to possess to be successful at Lake Park.

Community members are invited to participate in an open focus group at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Lake Park East Campus, 600 S. Medinah Road, Roselle. Focus groups will be facilitated by School Exec Connect consultants Kevin O'Mara and Timothy Shimp and should last approximately 45 minutes.

The board of education also has published an online survey to assist in the development of a leadership profile to be used in the search for a new superintendent.

Residents of the communities served by Lake Park High School are encouraged to complete the survey, which will provide valuable information to the board during this search process.

The survey link, available on the district website at www.lphs.org, will remain open until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27.

All survey responses are anonymous and confidential.
