Gurnee Touch-a-Truck event celebrates 10 years Sept. 13

Hunt Club Park's Parking Lot, on Friday, Sept. 13, at 900 North Hunt Club Road, will host a variety of vehicles from Gurnee Public Works, Gurnee Police Department, Gurnee Fire Department, Warren Township, Wildwood Towing, Burris Equipment and many more.

From 6-8 p.m., families can enjoy trucks, police cars, an ambulance, large construction equipment and more. Children will enjoy sitting in the driver's seat, honking horns and taking plenty of time to explore their favorite large trucks and vehicles. Do not forget a camera or cellphone to capture the fun.

"This event continues to be successful because of our intergovernmental partnerships," Gurnee Park District's Recreation Manager Beckie Korzyniewski said. "We're so pleased to work together and provide a larger than life experience for our guests."

Free to attend, all ages will enjoy a Friday night of "driving" and exploring. Concessions will be on sale at Hunt Club Park Aquatic Center's Cattail Café.

Should inclement weather be forecast, check the Gurnee Park District Rainout Line, at rainoutline.com/gurneeparkdistrict, prior to attending.
