Hampshire club to hold fall field trip Sept. 17

The Hampshire-Henpeck Unit of Home and Community Education will have a field trip meeting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17. Unit members will start with brunch at Egg Haven, 2562 Sycamore Road in DeKalb, before the visit to Kuiper's Apple Orchard, 1N318 Watson Road in Maple Park. While at Kuiper's, unit members may browse the store and enjoy a sample of Kuiper's delicious goodies, select gifts for family and friends or purchase a bag of apples for home. Jan will contact Unit members with final details.

Look for the poster at the Heartland Bank in Hampshire celebrating HCE Week, Sept. 13-19.

The Kane County Extension Office, 535 S. Randall Road in St. Charles, will host upcoming events. On Thursday, Sept. 19, the "Lesson for Living," "What's New In the Kitchen," will be presented at 2 p.m.

Fun Day Bavarian Luncheon/Program will be on Thursday, Oct. 17, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. Cost is $20 per person with a Bavarian Oktoberfest Menu by Harner's Catering.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, "Lesson for Living" will be "Saving Money On Food Costs" will be presented at 10 a.m.
