Ultimate Billy Joel, Elton John tribute show Sept. 15

Mike Sigman will bring the magic of Billy Joel and Elton John to Arlington Heights for the live show, Piano Man: A Tribute to Billy Joel & Elton John, a show that has been thrilling audiences for 16 years.

The performance will be held Sunday, Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. at Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road.

"We put on a show full of costumes and revelry, paying Billy Joel and Elton John the ultimate tribute," said Sigman, who grew up in Des Plaines and lives in Carpentersville.

The show features a handpicked lineup of talented and versatile musicians and Sigman has an uncanny ability to mimic the voices of both Elton John and Billy Joel.

The local "Piano Man," said both mega superstars have had a positive impact on his life and as a piano player.

"I have been a fan of both since I was a child and their music has influenced by own songwriting for decades," shared Sigman.

"Every song is a hit," said Sigman. "Bringing the music of these two mega superstars to life has been the accomplishment of a lifetime."

Sigman has been performing and singing for 45 years since he was 11 years old.

So, out of the large variety of hit songs between Elton John and Billy Joel, what is Sigman's personal favorite song?

"I don't have a favorite," said Sigman. "I tallied up all of the songs I know of theirs the other day and it totaled 157."

Sigman has a theatre company that puts on original musicals all over Chicagoland, called The Sigman Brothers. He has five music degrees, 3 undergrad and 2 master's degrees.
