Lavelle Law founder to host American Bar Association webinar for first- and second-year attorneys
Kerry Lavelle, founding partner of Lavelle Law in Schaumburg, will host a webinar for the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association in which he will share practical tips for attorneys in their first two years of practicing law. The webinar, entitled "The Reliable Associate," will take place at noon Wednesday, Sept. 18.
During the webinar, Lavelle will share insights on how to make a good impression during an associate's first year of practice, including how to work with partners, senior associates and staff, and how to produce high-quality work.
"Once you've graduated from law school, it's time to take everything you've learned and put it into practice," said Lavelle. "But you also have to learn how to function as a professional, which isn't something you learn in school. In order to thrive you have to understand the proper workplace etiquette and be ready to work hard."
Lavelle has published two books through the American Bar Association, including "The Early-Career Guide for Attorneys: Starting and Building a Successful Career in Law." He's also a featured speaker at conferences across the country and launched Lavelle Consulting, a practice group that focuses on helping law firms improve their overall performance.
"The Reliable Associate" webinar will provide participants with one hour of CLE credit. The Young Lawyers Division is the ABA's home for the new attorney, giving members tools to navigate the early years of a career and resources to grow their skill sets.
