Studios630 to host artists reception Aug. 25

On Sunday, Aug. 25, the Studios630 local artist group is hosting an artists reception from 3 to 5 p.m. to celebrate its group show and the solo exhibit "Retrospective" by artist Richard Archer.

Archer is a retired pharmacist and pharmacy owner who has been painting with passion for most of his life. Always fascinated and motivated by color, he created a body of work that includes dynamic graphic compositions along with traditional landscapes, portraits, collages and 3-D sculptures.

This reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Artists will be on hand to talk about their works. Fine art originals will be available for purchase.

"This show features art that is amazing, affordable and could enhance your home or office," said member Carol Marcus.

These local artists present a variety of styles and media which include oils, collage, acrylic, mixed media, colored pencil, and more.

Studios630 President Sharon Tinker encourages local artists who are not yet members to stop by and meet artists at the show or visit the Studios630.org website for information.

The art gallery, which is managed by Studios 630, can be found inside Clinic Building B of National University of Health Sciences, 200 E. Roosevelt Road in Lombard just north at Highland Avenue.

The exhibit viewed by the public during normal clinic operating hours 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
