Friends of Wheaton Library to host annual book sale Aug. 21-24

The Friends of the Wheaton Library annual used book sale opens to the public on Wednesday, Aug. 21, and runs through Saturday, Aug. 24, at the library, 225 N. Cross St.

Offering more than 20,000 books for children and adults, the sale is one of biggest in the Western suburbs.

The sale is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 21-22, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23-24.

On "Fab Friday," all books are reduced. Mass market paperbacks are 25 cents and all other books are $1. On Saturday, a bag of books is just $5. All proceeds benefit the library.

Wheaton's Friends of the Library group was started in 2003. Anyone can become a member by filling out the application and paying the annual dues, which range from $10 for seniors to $50 for "Best Friends."

The dues, along with all the money raised throughout the year, go directly to benefit the library. Current Friends members are asked to renew their memberships each May.
