Friends of McHenry County College Foundation golf invitational a success

The 32nd Friends of MCC Foundation Golf Invitational was held June 10 at Crystal Lake Country Club. Proceeds raised from this event helps to further the foundation's mission to provide financial support to MCC students, making education accessible and attainable through student scholarships.

The Premiere Sponsor of the event was Robbins Schwartz of Chicago. Also supporting the event were the following organizations: UniCarriers Americas Corporation as Platinum Event Sponsor; Demonica Kemper Architects as Reception Sponsor; First Midwest and Pepper Construction as Breakfast Sponsors; Home State Bank and AptarGroup as Player Gift Sponsors; Watlow as Champions Sponsor; Coilcraft, Inc., Crystal Lake Bank & Trust, and NW Herald/Shaw Suburban Media as Tournament Sponsors; Express Employment Professionals as Cart Sponsor; and 365 Equipment and Supply, Scot Forge, Snap-on and 2010 Engineering as Beverage Cart and Halfway House Sponsors.

The event opened at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast, followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The outing included 18 holes of golf in a scramble format, an Adidas player gift tent, a grill lunch, a hearty appetizer reception, and an awards presentation.

Trent Craig, from the MLCV Investments Foursome, sank a birdie putt on the Watlow Champions Hole to win a $1,000 scholarship for one MCC student. The event was full of great gifts, prizes, auction items, contests and competition.

Golfers and sponsors raised more than $90,000 in proceeds - all toward helping MCC students realize their educational dreams.
