Elgin Area Camera Club show Aug. 9 to benefit Operation Horses and Heroes

On Friday, Aug. 9, the Elgin Area Camera Club will host its third annual "Art Show for Charity" from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Rider Center of the Elgin Academy, Kimball Street and Academy Place in Elgin.

The exhibit will feature award-winning photographs from the club's members.

Prints will be available for purchase, with a minimum of half the proceeds going to Operation Horses and Heroes, a nonprofit organization that provides equine therapy to members of armed forces, veterans and their families affected by trauma.

Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

This is a great opportunity to see the works of some very talented local photographers, enjoy a festive atmosphere and help an organization that helps those who have sacrificed, so we could enjoy our freedoms.
