Chicago Dental Foundation Clinic offers Back-to-School Dental Care for Kids
Wheaton, IL, July 19, 2019 - The Chicago Dental Foundation Clinic in Wheaton will host its third annual Back to School event on July 27. Volunteer dentists and dental assistants will donate more than 70 hours and $3,000 of dental care to patients from socioeconomically disadvantaged populations in the tri-county area.
Volunteer dentists will include Shafa Amirsoltani DDS, Best Practice Dental, Elmwood Park; Theresa Lao, DDS, Assistant Professor, Midwestern College of Dental Medicine and Clinical Faculty, Midwestern University Clinics, Downers Grove; Mandeep "Mini" Raina DDS, Raina Dental Care, Bolingbrook and DentalWorks Chicago Ridge; Joseph Sperlazzo DDS, Assistant Professor and Clinical Care Coordinator, Midwestern College of Dental Medicine and Midwestern University Clinics, Downers Grove; Kenneth Yerkes DDS, Oak Lawn Dental; Victoria Ursitti DDS, All About Kids Dentistry LLC, Arlington Heights, and Algonquin Kids Dentistry.
Services donated will include oral exams, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride, fillings, extractions, sealants and space maintainers. Each child will receive professional care in a compassionate, fun environment, designed to put them at ease and teach them about oral health. In addition, each child will be provided with a dental gift bag and State of Illinois Proof of Dental Examination forms to take to their school.
As the philanthropic arm of the Chicago Dental Society, the CDS Foundation fills a critical need for oral health care services in Cook, Lake, DuPage and collar counties in Illinois. The clinic provides free, high-quality basic dental care services to individuals and families who show proof of household income at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.
