MCC offers class on adoption process

If you are considering adopting a child, learn about the fundamentals of the adoption process and explore the world of adoption during "The Adoption Process from A to Z," a continuing education class offered by McHenry County College. The class will be 1 to 2:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, in Room A117 on the college campus, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

Sally Wildman, a Chicago and Northbrook attorney, with more than 15 years of experience in this field, will share information about the different types of adoption available - agency, private, related, foreign, and foster parent, plus the many steps required, including home study, foster parent licensing, and immigration.

Wildman will help participants understand how to make their adoption secure.

Participants will also hear about the resources available for choosing an adoption agency, attorney, adoption organizations, and related professionals in the field. Discussion concludes with considering common needs of adopted children.
