Help 'Pack the Bus' for District 54 students

Schaumburg Township will host its third annual Pack the Bus school supply drive to support Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54's low-income students from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 at Target, 2621 W. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg.

The effort's goal is to make sure every area student has the supplies needed to succeed on the first day of school.

There are many ways to help.

New supplies can also be dropped off at the township (1 Illinois Blvd. in Hoffman Estates) or Cook County Commissioner Kevin Morrison's office (1325 Wiley Road, Suite 141 in Schaumburg) until the end of August.

This year, online purchases can be mailed directly to the township's Welfare Services as well. Review the wish list at Target.com. Monetary donations are also welcome.

For more information, call Welfare Services at (847) 884-0030.
