Get tickets for Downtown Taste featuring 10 Aurora restaurants July 30

Once again the Aurora Downtown group and the Exchange Club of Aurora are teaming up for an evening of tasty bites to benefit local high school students on Tuesday, July 30.

Ten downtown restaurants will participate in this year's Downtown Taste, which offers diners the opportunity to visit a variety of participating restaurants from 5 to 9 p.m. on the last Tuesday in July in downtown Aurora.

Restaurants and specials include Gillerson's Grubbery with their popular Hodgepodge appetizer, La France Bakery with tres leches cake, Tredwell with Argonated cold brew coffee by Tugboat poured over vanilla ice cream, and many more.

Started by Aurora Study Circles, the popular, charitable event has grown under the direction of the Exchange Club of Aurora in recent years.

The event is now a joint venture run by Aurora Downtown, an organization of downtown business and property owners, and continues to benefit the Exchange Club and contribute to scholarships for East and West High students.

In 2019, the Exchange Club awarded nine scholarships to students who have overcome adversity to earn their degree. In total, over $100,000 in scholarships have been awarded from event proceeds.

Tickets for the evening cost $30 and can be purchased online at www.eventbrite.com/e/downtown-taste-2019-tickets-60594150736 through July 30.

Tickets also can be purchased in person, cash only, from 4 to 6 p.m. July 30 at the welcome table at Santori Public Library, 101 S. River St., and 5 to 9 p.m. at Ballydoyle, 28 W. New York St.

One ticket book includes five tickets to any participating restaurant. Tickets can be used at one restaurant or multiple restaurants to get a taste of downtown offerings including appetizers, small plates, drinks and desserts.

Free trolley rides and entertainment also are part of the evening.
