Middle School Church Camp Ravaged by Storm; Alternative Camp Planned July 22-24 at The Chapel Grayslake for all Middle School students in Lake County
GRAYSLAKE, Illinois, July 19, 2019 - Over 300 middle school students from The Chapel traveled to Silver Birch Ranch on Friday, July 19 for a five-day camp experience, but camp was cut short. A severe weather system hit northern Wisconsin on Friday night and not only caused Silver Birch Ranch to lose all electricity and plumbing, but also felled hundreds of trees and significantly damaged several buildings and activity areas. It was with sadness that our Middle School students had to leave Silver Birch Ranch early and return home, but we are thankful that no one was hurt and that all arrived back safely.
Our Student Pastor Team is - ON THE FLY - preparing an amazing ALTERNATIVE day camp on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week (July 22nd, 23rd and 24th) for EVERY middle school student in Lake County! Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Students can bring as many of their friends as they would like, whether they attend The Chapel or not! And there is ZERO COST! Completely free of charge for everyone who comes.
In the words of our students, CAMP STOP! WON'T STOP!
Also, all high school students and all parents of both middle and high school students are invited to attend each night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to participate in the evening session.
