July 22-25: Explore a new career at CLC Days

Interested in a convenient location to learn about dozens of rewarding careers that you can study at the College of Lake County?

Learn about careers in several majors, from healthcare and business to engineering and liberal arts, in information sessions at CLC's Grayslake Campus during CLC Days, which take place from Monday, July 22 through Thursday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. While nearly all career information sessions will take place at Grayslake, there will be dozens of other sessions, covering financial aid, transfer planning and more at Grayslake, Lakeshore (Waukegan) and Southlake (Vernon Hills) Campuses.

CLC faculty will discuss the following subjects at Grayslake unless indicated otherwise:

•Monday, July 22: Health Information Technology; Legal Studies; Yoga Teacher Certificate.

•Tuesday, July 23: Accounting, Computer-Assisted Design (CAD) Drafting; Dance; Elementary Education; and Engineering Transfer. Additionally, an information session on the Dental Hygiene program will take place at Lakeshore only.

•Thursday, July 25: Administrative Management and Technology and Computer Information Technology; Business, Economics, Political Science and Supply Chain Management; Criminal Justice; Gender Studies, History and Sociology; Hospitality and Culinary Management; and Human Services and Social Work.

Beyond career programs, other sessions will cover transfer planning, financial aid and scholarships, with representatives available to help students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Participants also can apply for admission, register for classes and speak directly with advisors and counselors. Additionally, the community can learn about campus-specific offerings at Lakeshore and Southlake, including the latter's Super-charged Saturdays offered this fall.

Additionally, a raffle will be held, allowing 50 students to celebrate CLC's 50th Anniversary by paying the 1969 tuition price of $7 per credit hour for three hours of courses.

"Any student registered for Fall Semester classes as of 11:59 p.m. July 25 will be eligible to enter the raffle," said Erin Fowles, dean of Enrollment Services. "CLC's regular tuition of $122 per hour is in itself a bargain compared to other colleges, but for each raffle winner, the discount translates to a per-hour savings of $115, or $345 for all three credit hours."

Winners will be announced via email, Fowles added.

CLC Days are part of more than 50 free events celebrating the college's 50th Anniversary.
