Fox Valley Wildlife Center to be featured at Lords Park Zoo July 14

Uncaged in the Zoo

• Learn about the Fox Valley Wildlife Center, an Elburn-based animal rescue shelter which cares for sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife, from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14, inside Lords Park Zoo on Hiawatha Drive on Elgin's east side. The "Uncaged in the Zoo" series are free and no registration is required.

Adventures in the Zoo

• The "Adventures in the Zoo" summer series, hosted by Lords Park Zoo and Elgin Public Museum, will offer three programs in July. These programs are free and no registration is required.

On Wednesday, July 10, let your kid-imaginations run free from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the zoo. They invite young Aspiring Artists to an open-ended exploration of creating art with provided various materials.

In "Rocks Rock!," different types of rocks will be displayed for aspiring young geologists to see and touch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, inside the zoo.

On Wednesday, July 31, take a fascinating look at "Skulls & Shells" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the zoo.

PAWS on the Porch

• The "PAWS on the Porch" series, hosted by Lords Park Zoo and Elgin Public Museum, will be offered three times in July. These programs are free with no registration required.

On Friday, July 12, discuss that cuddly critter, the alligator, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. inside Lords Park Zoo.

The buzz will be bees, so be sure to be there. The program will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 19, inside the zoo.

On Friday, July 26, take a look at octopuses ... or do you say octopi? The event will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. inside the zoo.
