Namesake of GiGi's Playhouse to sing at Cubs game Tuesday

Sixteen-year-old GiGi Gianni of South Barrington, the namesake of Hoffman Estates-based GiGi's Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Centers, will sing the National Anthem before the Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, June 25.

GiGi has worked hard to overcome the low muscle tone that people with Down syndrome have, which makes it more difficult to speak and sing.

GiGi's Playhouse, founded by GiGi's mother Nancy Gianni, offers free programs to help people with Down syndrome learn, thrive and break through barriers. There are now 46 locations throughout North America.
