Lake Villa Dogs get their day!

The sun shined bright on Saturday, June 11th for Animal Hospital of Lake Villa's annual fundraiser, A Day with the Dogs. The fun filled event featured music from local radio station 101.5 WLCB and food provided by R Dogs along with vendors, face painting, henna tattoos, photos, and all sorts of games. People and dog friendly dogs were welcome to attend.

Attendance to the event was completely free but attendees could register for $30. This registration came with an event t-shirt, food tickets, raffle tickets and photo booth tickets. Every year hosts a different them with this year's theme being Superhero. Dogs of all sizes were encouraged to bring their capes and pose. The proceeds from the event went to non-profit rescue group, Petropolis Inc. Petropolis is a foster based rescue that has helped many cats and dogs find loving homes.

While the event is organized by the Animal Hospital of Lake Villa, it is an entirely community-based project. Sponsorships from B&B Family Flooring, Bark N Town, Care Credit, Fur The Love of Dogs, Kriser's, Mundelein Pediatrics, Penn Station, Pet Bath & Beyond, R-Dogs, Shag Bark Pet Spa, and Trupanion, along with donations from various local businesses helped fund the entire event. A Day with the Dogs also wouldn't be possible without the help of its many volunteers. Overall, the event was a huge success raising $2k for the rescue group. Animal Hospital of Lake Villa looks forward to next year's event which will be Woodstock themed!
