CLC offers more than 50 free events as part of a year-long, 50th Anniversary celebration

From a community celebration with fireworks to the opening of a 1999 time capsule, Lake County residents are invited to more than 50 free events sponsored by the College of Lake County to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The year-long effort began with the May 18 commencement ceremony and continues through May 2020.

Special events at the Grayslake, Lakeshore (Waukegan) and Southlake (Vernon Hills) Campuses are a part of a growing list that will top 50 events to appeal to the Lake County community. While the official 50th anniversary is Sept. 25, the celebration is designed to encompass several months to allow the community to experience the diverse offerings of the college.

"Since the fall of 1969, CLC has helped countless residents of Lake County and elsewhere realize their dreams-whether the dream is a first career, a second career, a new skill or a new insight," said Anne O'Connell, director of public relations and marketing. "The events appeal to diverse interests, and we hope they will help CLC thank the community for our 50-year partnership."

Events include:
