Immigration law specialist joins Lavelle Law firm

• Parveen K. Goyal has joined the Immigration Practice Group at Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law as Of Counsel. Fluent in both Hindi and Punjabi, Goyal will help the firm better serve those in the Indian community.

Goyal brings 27 years of experience in immigration law to Lavelle. He has advised on and handled cases related to visitor visas, immigrant and nonimmigrant visas and petitions, religious visas and entertainment visa petitions. He also has many years experience working with employment and family-based immigration matters, including naturalization and removal hearings.

Goyal earned his undergraduate degree from Panjab University in India, and received a master's degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago. He studied law at The John Marshall Law School.

• The Stamps Family Charitable Foundation awarded Sydney Glickson of Lincolnshire a Stamps Scholarship. Glickson, who will attend Wake Forest University in the fall, joins 218 of the top students from 28 universities across the country who were chosen for their academic excellence, leadership experience and exceptional character to receive the scholarship.

At most of Stamps partner universities, the Stamps Scholarship covers the total estimated cost of attendance for four years of undergraduate study and also includes enrichment funds that scholars can use for academic and professional development.

Glickson also benefits from the national Stamps Foundation network of peers and the opportunity to attend biennial conventions and other events where scholars investigate pressing issues and learn from accomplished community leaders

• Katey Mundorf of Bartlett is the recipient of the Arts in Bartlett Arts Scholarship.

Mundorf, who attended Bartlett High School and was a member of the Drama Club, designed and painted murals. She has been an intern with Color My World Art Studio and is a dancer with Weber Irish Dance.

Mundorf plans to attend Elgin Community College to pursue a career in graphic design. She will be honored at the Bartlett Global Arts Festival on Sunday, June 23, after performing with the Weber Irish Dancers at 1 p.m. in Bartlett Park.

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher R. Cleveland Joint Hometown News Service

• U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher R. Cleveland graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Cleveland, the son of Janine and Randall Cleveland of Palestine, Texas, is a 2014 graduate of Christian Liberty Academy, Arlington Heights. He earned an associate degree in 2018 from Central Virginia Community College, Lynchburg, Virginia.
