Hanover Township Knit and Crochet Donations

Every Thursday morning a group of talented knitters and crocheters meet at the Hanover Township Senior Center from 9 a.m. until noon to create handmade articles for various charity groups.

This past quarter the group donated nine lap robes and afghans, three quilted wheelchair throws, 19 shawls and shrugs, three shawl and chemo hat sets, and 95 chemo hats.

These items were delivered to Northwest Oncology, a part of St. Alexius Hospital, to be distributed to their outlets.

Every quarter the group selects a new project. This next quarter they are making winter hats, scarves, mittens, and headbands for needy children, which will go to U-46 schools, PADS shelters, orphanages and programs.

The group is always looking for new members to come and join, and if you want to learn, there is always someone to teach you. The knitters and crocheters are always grateful to receive any donations of yarn or fabric if you are downsizing, relocating or just cleaning.
