2019 Lions Club Scholarship Winner

Krinal Thakkar was awarded a $1,000 Scholarship by the Schaumburg - Hoffman Estates Lions Club. Krinal currently attends Hoffman Estates High School. She will be attending Cornell University in the fall. Congratulations Krinal!

"I am super excited to be going to such a presutigious university. I am extremely grateful to the Lions Club for helping me reach my dreams. Much like the Lion's Club motto "we serve", I also want to serve those around me that lack adequate health care and are victims of violence. I want to pursue biology in society with a minor in Inequality studies at Cornell on a pre med path. I eventually want to become a pediatric surgeon and help kids who lack access to basic needs and health care, both here and abroad." -Krinal Thakkar

Eligibility: Resident of Schaumburg or Hoffman Estates

Applicant Criteria: Senior Status, attending a 2 or 4 year School

Application requirements include: Application, Transcript, 2 Essays: "How have I lived up to the Lions Club motto of "WE Serve?" and "what are my goals for the future including education, career and personal goals?"
