While auditions are a necessary part to the selection process, they are held in a relaxed environment, and are used to determine voicing, musical instincts and music theory level. Upcoming auditions will be 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 13; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19; 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Tuesday, June 20 and 25; and 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26.

Spirito! has three ensembles, Bravura, Ragazze, and the Men of Spirito!, which perform four concerts annually.

A variety of repertoire is presented, from musical theater to choral masterpieces.

The Spirito! choristers receive outstanding vocal and musical training.

"I wanted a challenge so I auditioned for Spirito!," said Bravura member Elise Husemann. "After my first rehearsal, I knew this was going to be something I stuck with. You can't get the experience that Spirito! provides anywhere else. Plus, the repertoire is just unmatched."

Bravura is the performing, touring, and recording ensemble for young women entering ninth to 12th grade. These young ladies rehearse on Sunday afternoons in Elmhurst.

Ragazze is the Spirito! performing and training ensemble for girls entering fifth-to eighth grade. With three rehearsal locations (Downers Grove, La Grange, and Elmhurst), rehearsals are held on weeknights and singers can choose the most convenient site.

Ragazze members also receive curriculum based music theory training as part of the weekly rehearsals.

The Men of Spirito! is a performing ensemble for men, age 18 or older. They produce a rich sound and add a varied, entertaining repertoire to the concerts. The Men rehearse on Tuesday nights in Elmhurst.

Service is an important part of the Spirito! mission. Each ensemble performs 3-5 service events a season at local churches and community events across the Chicago area.

"We know that local involvement elevates the experience for each of these young girls and underscores the importance of making a difference in their community," says Molly Lindberg, artistic director and founder of Spirito! Singers.

The Spirito! season mirrors the school year and auditions occur prior to the start of the season. Summer offers the only opportunity for singers who wish to participate in the 2019-20 season.

Auditions are held at the Spirito! office located at 900 Jorie Blvd., Suite 102 in Oak Brook.
