Former Chicago Bear to Bring 'Spice' to Intermediate School

Two students will be bringing a former Chicago Bear and inspirational speaker to school on Friday thanks to their parents bidding on and winning the prize of "Take Anthony to School" during the annual SEDOL Foundation Heart of Gold charity auction held in March.

Anthony "Spice" Adams is a former Chicago Bear defensive tackle and current host of Inside the Bears. He has served on the Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL) Foundation Board for more than eight years and annually donates his time to visit local schools as one "prize" at the annual charity auction.

This past March, at the annual SEDOL Foundation Heart of Gold charity auction, Tom and Lindsay Cummings and Mike and Susan Deney, both of Gurnee, bid and won the prize of "Take Anthony to School." Their sons, Aiden Cummings and Ryan Deney are both third grade students, in the same class, at Woodland Intermediate School District 50. Both boys will bring Mr. Adams to their school, classroom and out to lunch on May 31.

Mr. Adams is generously sharing his time with all Woodland Intermediate School students with two separate assemblies as well. He will talk about on making good choices, peer pressure and his life on and off the football field in and bring a little "Spice" to students' morning. Assemblies are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., and he will visit the boys' classroom at 10:30 a.m.
