Hey Nonny Welcomes New General Manager

Hey Nonny, the popular new Arlington Heights music venue and bistro has appointed Fred Gore as General Manager. Gore brings 20 years of hospitality industry experience to Hey Nonny.

"We're thrilled to have Fred join us," said Hey Nonny co-owner Chris Dungan. "He brings a high level of commitment to the service side of our restaurant and his approach will fit in perfectly with the entertaining Hey Nonny vibe."

Gore began his career with Ella Brennan as a food-runner at Commander's Palace in New Orleans. Within four years he rose through the business to become Operations Manager. In 1998, Gore was asked to open the Commander's Palace in Las Vegas. During Gore's term at Commanders, the establishment won two James Beard awards, being recognized for service and best chef.

In recent years, Gore has left his impression on the Chicago dining community, working with Levy Restaurants as the General Manager of Bistro 110 and Gibson's Steakhouse. Most recently Gore oversaw the creation of the Pete Miller's Steak and Seafood in Naperville, which carried on the chain's tradition of presenting live music seven nights a week.

"We're especially happy that Fred comes to us from Pete Miller's where music was a critical part of the brand," said Hey Nonny co-owner Chip Brooks.

For his part, Gore looks forward to the dual priorities of serving dining and music clientele.

"I love music" said Gore, whose son will be making his Hey Nonny debut this week with a School of Rock performance group. "The opportunity to facilitate great music at a place that also has amazing food, and values superior service, is everything I've always wanted to do professionally."

Gore has begun working with Hey Nonny Executive Chef Jay Ruff on revised brunch and dinner menus that will debut in June.

Hey Nonny is a bistro and music venue located in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights. The bistro serves an array of farm-to-table entrées and small plates conjured up by Chef Jay Ruff. The menu changes on a regular basis to feature seasonal items sourced from local Midwest farm suppliers. The music venue hosts live music six days a week, featuring the best Chicago and touring acts playing jazz, blues, country, folk, and rock.
