Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation names new officers for 2019-20

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation has named Maura Hirschauer as the new president of the foundation.

The foundation installed the new board of directors at a ceremony in May which also included: Kat Maggio, president-elect; Eunice Turnbaugh, past president; Shannon Juarez, treasurer; Kristi Bertie, secretary; Amanda Horne, ways & means chairwoman; Elizabeth Larson, philanthropic chairwoman; and Palak Coleman and Laura Fields, communications co-chairs.

Hirschauer will oversee all aspects of the 501(c)3 organization, which raised and disbursed nearly $38,000 this past year to improve the lives of children and families in the Fox Valley area, including CHIP-IN Batavia and CASA Kane County.

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation hosts a variety of fundraisers throughout the year, such as the annual Autumn Craft & Vendor Show to be held at Batavia High School Oct. 19; the "Totally Rad '80s" bunco charity event held in January/February; and the Fox Trot 5K/10K held in April.

In addition to the large fundraisers held annually, the Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation also supports local charities each month by providing needed donations or services.

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation also announced that its 2019-20 general meetings will be held at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month, September through May, at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.

Occasionally, the meeting location differs, so check the website for more information before attending.

Membership is comprised of area moms interested in supporting the community through philanthropic endeavors.

Anyone interested in membership or learning more about the club are welcome to attend these meetings or to attend the open house to be held near the beginning of the school year.
